Fiduciary Financial Advisor recommendationss?

Question

Looking for a fiduciary financial advisor to help map out my investment strategy and ideally a path towards FIRE. I'm currently not a high net worth individual but have 1 investment property. Any recommendations are appreciated :)

Hi @Jill Jay! In general, when folks ask for recommendations for a financial planner, I recommend fee-only, fiduciary CFP® Professionals that specializes in working with real estate investors. As @Jonathan Bock rightly notes, those of us who serve the real estate investor community are something of a minority among financial advisors. But we do exist! Happy to touch base separately if I can answer any followup questions.

Asking specific questions would help us that have done it help you. I never understood how someone not fire ie someone that still needs to work, can help you achieve what they haven't.

The 'plan' is simple. Find your why. Fire is about running to something bigger than what you're running from.

Then have a high savings rate by limiting spending to what you prioritize and maximizing income by focusing on what you know. Then convert these savings to investments you create with a great return. Rinse and repeat.

FIRE can be awesome, some drawbacks for sure; I personally experienced this and have seen others go through many of these as well.

Real estate investment centric clients are not traditionally courted by advisors unless they have assets to manage outside of direct real estate ownership or insurance needs.
