LLC Name on Deed - Which Legal Name Do I Use?

I recently purchased a home at auction in Virginia, and the owner's name shown on the deed is the name of my company (exactly as it is legally registered in the foreign state where my company is domesticated). Upon doing some research, that same company name already exists in Virginia, where the home is located, as a domestic entity with a different owner. I went to register my company as a foreign entity doing business in Virginia prior to renting the property out, but am not permitted to use my legal name since it is already being used.

My question is: do I need to correct the deed to show whatever company name I end up choosing to use as my foreign entity registration in Virginia? Or can I keep the name as shown, knowing that there is another company in Virginia with the same name?

Yes you need to correct the deed and register in that state with an alias. For example our company is XYZ Investments but in one state that was taken so we used XYZ Arizona Investments in that state.
