I'm Alex from west-central Ohio, and I'm excited to connect with other investors here on BiggerPockets.

By day I'm a school social worker, but real estate has become a true passion of mine. I love everything from analyzing deals and planning renovations to finding creative ways to add value to a property. My husband, Dakota, shares that passion. His career has taken him from working on foreclosed properties for banks to becoming an electrician, and now a Senior Project Manager. Together we bring a mix of construction knowledge, project management, and a long-term investing mindset.

We're actively investing in value-add single-family homes throughout western and central Ohio and are always looking for our next opportunity. While our primary focus is Ohio, we're also interested in building relationships with investors and professionals throughout the Midwest.

What markets are you taking a look at to get started in other than Ohio? We've worked with a lot of investors that got started in Akron and then moved to Memphis because our rent to price ratios are better. Would be happy to connect and talk more about that!

    stay local to start and do everything yourself. Dayton is a good rental market. That'll give you the experience, the pain, the crazy, and set you on the right path. Slow and steady.

    It's great to hear about the combination of skills you and Dakota bring to your investing business. Having experience in construction, project management, and value-add renovations is a strong foundation for building a successful real estate portfolio.

    I primarily enjoy connecting with investors who take a long-term approach and focus on creating value rather than chasing quick wins.     Hey Alex! Welcome to the community! 馃檶 Love the story  the combination of your analytical mindset and Dakota's construction and project management background is a powerful duo in this business. That's a serious competitive advantage when it comes to value-add deals!

    Ohio actually fits perfectly within my buying criteria, particularly for larger multifamily in the 50-300+ unit range where cap rates are very favorable right now. But I love what you're building with value-add single family as a foundation  it's the perfect way to sharpen your systems before scaling up.
