Looking for a trustworthy and reliable Maintenance Company/Contractor in Detroit

Does anyone have any recommendations for a trustworthy and reliable maintenance contractor in Detroit?  I've learned the hard way that the maintenance company that my property manager uses is not trustworthy.

In case you're interested in some context: On their first work order, they charged me $620 for probably about $150 worth of work.  When I asked for an itemized invoice, they initially refused to itemize it.  After some insistence, they finally sent me an itemized breakdown.  On the itemized invoice, they indicated that $170 of the $620 charge was for screwing a cover onto a 2-gang junction box.... charging $170  attaching a $2 cover is ridiculous enough... but the ordeal took an even darker turn when I found out that they never actually mounted a cover onto the junction box, despite claiming that they had and charging me a ridiculous $170 for it.  I've since received an estimate for another work order and I have serious concerns regarding the recommended work and the corresponding charge on the estimate.

What I'm looking for is a company or contractor that I can go to for all maintenance and repair issues (one stop shop).  Have any of you had a really great experience working with a particular contractor or company?  I'm open to all recommendations.

Hi Talmage, a true one stop shop can be a little difficult to find. In our experience, when one company tries to cover every trade, the quality can sometimes be lower than using someone who specializes in that specific work. For general maintenance, though, we’ve worked with Route-16 in Detroit for a few years and they’ve been reliable.

Feel free to mention my name if you end up getting in touch.
