Never let your RE license expire!
Once upon a time, I was an agent for a brief moment 10 years ago. I studied for the exam and had to take it 2X before I passed it. I didn't do much with it. I was working overnight and attempting to practice real estate during the day. I let one bad conversation with a top-performing agent at the brokerage and a rental that was running me rampant discourage me from not only taking my CE courses but also allowing the three-year extension to lapse as well.
I so regret it, because now, I am at the end of the coursework for the CE Shop, and I'm not getting the scores I want on the practice exams. Life has been so busy, but we make time for what is important, so there are no excuses. I really just need to tune in and study, study, study!
Any suggestions or stories from other agents or former agents who let this happen to them?

RE license test are all about memorizing and taking massive amount of practice test full stop.. I have had licenses in OR CA MS all brokers licenses. still have my CA license that I got in 75 Even though I have not used it in many years.. I just take the CE every 4 years.. But now in CA the one thing that I guess they do right is if you have had your license for a certain number of years in good standing and then turn 70 you no longer have to take CE just pay to renew every 4 years.. I have hit that milestone so since I dont have to every take CE again I suspect I will keep it until I die :)
My Mortgage lender license though the CE was every year and after about 12 years of not using that one I finally let it go.. I kept it as I thought I might buy a mortgage company but that notion has passed me by.
