To Tesla or NOT to Tesla????

Question

How many of you guys/gals drive Tesla or any other EV brand?

Last year, ahead of the end of the big tax incentives, I decided to stick it to uncle Sam and take advantage of some tax incentives. I decided on trying EV, after decades of really loving muscle cars, fast imports, exotics and european luxury cars. I wouldn't call myself a car 'enthusiast', i think 'car junkie' better describes my habits! I love buying cars, modifying, showing them off, racing nationwide, pulling the engine and even extreme light weight modifications.

At 54 years old, I've calmed down a bunch, but i still have 'need for speed'. I wanted to try ev and looked at all the manufactures in term of experience and success, and i decided on Tesla as the best network, (just like I chose iphone over android.)

First off, if you love camping and fishing and hate electronics and always forget to charge your cellphone-- EV cars are not your thing! -lol

On the other hand, if you're actively digital tand pack 2 cellphones, a macbook pro use a watch to pay for groceries-- you will love EV.

I chose the model y because I'm 6ft ^in and i need a big car. I loved the X actually, but the Y was cheaper. The car I chase is AWd and includes the BOOst feature (extra 100hp) and has FSD. This car drives itself and It's fast and it's surprisingly cheap to own and maintain.

@Harry B.  Lol..... but I wouldn't get any 'cool points' for driving an EV truck...quite the opposite actually :-)

And there ain't no charging stations in the middle of the desert, or on those long lonely country roads....

No thanks.....I always roll around in a Truck and/or a Jeep. Working, hauling, off-roading.....no time/patience to charge.

Love the smell of ICE in the morning anyway.

But you guys enjoy, they look like cool toys!

I swear i thought the same. I realized, I use the bathroom at gas stations while buying cigarettes, I sleep, and I eat 2-3 times per day.. So there's always time to charge,,,just like my cellphone. hahaha

Also, I would love to see you try a cybertruck for a few days. It will haul whatever you are hauling, be a blast looking like 'cool dad' with the kids, and drive you home.

Before you say you hate it, just give it a shot! I had the worst case of 'charging anxiety' until I realized how easy it fit my schedule. --If the area you live in doesn't have the support I totally get it!

Recently I used my Gl550, because some friends needed a ride from the airport. Since getting the Tesla, i've driven it no more than 2-3 times for trips under a mile.

It took what it seems like forever to get the car to cool temps,, it was 92deg outside and the car was boiling. --NO interior precondition settings.

I was soooo annoyed at the gas pump!.. Since i hadn't driven her for months I decided to check the oil--icky!! lol --I just unplug when I leave my house,, gas stops actually seem like the true waste of time!

I was even annoyed by the fumes once i cracked the gas cap. -I've never smelled 'fumes' at a supercharging station ever! lol
