Hi All,

Any good/bad advices for purchasing and owning a small 1 bedroom condo (as a 2nd home) in the Seattle, near downtown area?

Thank you in advance!

This is not Seattle specific, but currently it's little harder to get loans for condos especially if the HOA is not doing well financially. It needs to have sufficient funds otherwise you may not get confirming loan. This is because of a lot of relatively recent changes from Fannie and Freddie. If your condo is in a smaller building say 5 to 10 condos, generally economies of scale doesn't apply and there are not many people willing to work on the HOA. If you don't want to run the HOA yourself, I suggest you buy in a bigger complex which can afford professional management.
