How are you actually handling the gap between "lead comes in" and "someone responds"?
Something I keep running into and can't quite figure out a clean answer for.
I've spent time on the ops side of a real estate team, and the thing that always surprised me wasn't lead volume, it was how much fell through in the hours between a lead coming in and someone actually replying. Nights, weekends, someone's mid-showing and can't check their phone. Doesn't matter how good the CRM is if nobody's watching it at 9pm on a Saturday.
Curious how other agents and teams handle this in practice. Do you have someone specifically owning that first response, is it whoever's free, or is it just... whoever checks their phone first? And for the teams that feel like they've got it locked down, what actually changed to fix it? Was it a person, a process, or something in the tech?

@Baptiste Le Flem, this is something I’ve dealt with in my own businesses too. What I’ve learned is that the biggest problem usually is not the CRM. It is when everyone thinks someone else is watching it.
What helped us most was making the first response someone’s actual responsibility, with a clear backup if that person is unavailable. Even if the first reply is just a quick acknowledgment and a next step, it keeps the lead from feeling ignored. The tech helps, but I’ve found the process and the person owning it matter more.
I’d be glad to stay connected, @Baptiste Le Flem. I like talking about this side of real estate because the follow-up process can make such a big difference before you ever get to the actual deal.
