Disappointing that Chase is not letting me setup an account for my new Solo 401k

7 Replies

Just spent over an hour at the bank and they are not able to setup a simple checking account for my new 401k trust to roll funds into. Frustrating waste of time and don't want to go through that again.

Anyone in Orange County CA that has a solo 401k - what bank do you work with?

@Nayt Grochowski

We gave you few choices for banking when we set up your Solo 401k plan. By using our recommendation you would have saved the time you spent with Chase. One of our local reps from Wells Fargo can even make the arrangements to send a banker to your place or work or residence to get the bank account documents signed.

I will email you his contact information.

Nayt the big bank giants generally view people as a grain of sand in a desert. Some have trillions of deposits annually.

If you want more personal service a smaller bank that thrives on the relationship might be more willing to help.

Big banks I have just never had the best luck with.

I went with Wells Fargo and did not have any issues.

Thanks @Dmitriy Formichenko and @Joe Homs - I did see the referenced banks when I setup the 401k, was thinking since my other business accounts are already setup with Chase (and needed to setup my new LLC account over there) would make sense to keep them in the same institute - so much for that thought!

On to Wells Fargo!

If you wish to tag someone, type @ followed by their name and then select the name of that person which should appear below the comments box. He or she will be notified of being tagged so that the conversation will continue. Important: the name of the person you wish to tag needs to appear below your text box and you must click on it to select the person in order to 'tag' them (otherwise it will be just the text and he will not be notified).

The reason I got notified of your comment because I have keyword alert setup and because I'm following this forum post (these are useful tools to utilize, look into that if you haven't already).

btw, Paul from Wells Fargo responded to my email, he will contact you today. Please keep me posted on how it goes.
