Long distance investment strategies

Timothy Jamar
Posted

Hello BP Community-

My wife and I are traveling health care professionals and are very excited about getting involved with real estate investing.  We typically change assignments every 3-6 months and don't have extended notice on where our next location will be.  Originally, we were hoping to find properties near each assignment to buy and rehab as long term rentals.  Our length of stay and high prices in some of the areas we have worked recently have been a barrier to entry for that model.  We are now thinking that long distance investing with quality turn key companies at lower initial price points would be the perfect way for us to begin this journey.

Any general advice on long distance investing or creative ideas are welcome.  Specifically looking for referrals or resources to quality turn key companies to become involved with.  Right now we are thinking that Tennessee (specifically Chattanooga area) makes a lot of sense to us for location, but also would love to hear other ideas.

Cheers!

@Timothy Jamar I wish I'd started with long distance investing, you're smart to learn about it from the beginning of your REI journey!

Chattanooga only has 1 turnkey company that I am aware of, Spartan Invest.  They may be one to consider.

Other than that, there is also the opportunity to buy a rent ready property and use any of our local PMs to manage it!
