Cape Cod STR Help

Nick Marino
Posted

Purchased a short term rental in Eastham (near Orleans border).  Average 3 bed / 2 bath not walking distance to beach.

Looking to rent it out on a short term basis and have knowledge of the area, but have never owned investment property (live about 90 minutes away).

Wife and I both have full w2 jobs so looking to use the STR aspect to offset some w2 income. Anyone know a strong tax strategist down the cape specializing in Real Estate?

Do people generally suggest starting a business for all of the expense or just holding everything in your own name?

If anyone has any help in finding a good book of help (handyman, cleaners, someone to cut the lawn) it would be very appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

@Nick Marino

1.

Find a property manager, no chance you will be able to do this on your own unless you live very close

What are you going to do come a Friday afternoon and cape traffic and tenant cannot access something

2.

Your cpa can be anywhere, location means zero, find the best one
