Starting out in central Florida

Hello,

I'm curious on recommendations on how to get started. I've read Brandon Turners book on Rental Property Investing, I regularly listen to the bigger pockets podcasts as well as research and learn about buying and long term rentals to get into real estate investing through multiple other resources. I've established a very stable  I've determined that local properties should be my first choice and by local I mean within 1.5 hours of my primary residence. I'm just not sure exactly where to start or find properties, or how to go about the first few steps past saving for a downpayment. Any Recommendations would be much appreciated.

Don't buy if you have only read books and listened to podcasts - you aren't ready. You need to go to in-person real estate investor meetups for at least six months and then the books and podcasts will come into real-life vision for you. You have to know investors in your area to understand what they do. You can learn a lot from the other sources, but the confidence comes from knowing other investors who have done what you want to do.
