How do I go about finding VA work?

Question

I’m in home remodeling sales and work about 20-25 hours per week and off weekends, so I have a ton of time on my hand waiting around for appointments. As I’m saving up for my first investment, I would like to learn more about the industry - and it would be nice to earn some income while doing so.

Are there any specific skills or knowledge I need to secure a VA side gig? Also what steps should be taken to find a VA position?

Hi Pat, I would suggest seeking work through a Brokerage as an administrative assistant.  Larger brokerages sometimes are in need of administrative work, which could earn you a steady income while also getting exposure to the field.  Feel free to reach out!

You’re going to have to find a specialized function that can’t be farmed out to the Philippines in the $5-$10/hr range. Have you looked in to being a mobile notary? It’s temporarily lost its shine because of the slow down in transactions. But it wa a decent gig for people until a year or two ago. Being in NY maybe something to do with physical document transportation? A realtor’s assistant?
