Things to consider before sending a colleague request

I get colleague request from time to time and one of the first things I do is look at a person‘s profile. I am getting a lot of colleague request where the person does not have anything on their profile and some don’t even have any post plus they don’t even care enough to send a short message. They’re just hitting colleague request in high volume to as many people as they have the motivation to click on. Some of the colleague request are coming from people that opened their account that very day.

Why would I want to be a colleague with somebody that I know nothing about?

What I’m trying to say is put at least a little something on your profile. If your new say you’re new, if you’re a lender say your lender, etc.  maybe send a little message with your colleague request would be a thoughtful touch..✅ Instead of just opening a new account and then requesting everybody and their grandma to be your colleague when they don’t have a clue who you are or what you do even a little bit.
I’m not suggesting that you have to tell everything about yourself,  but at least a little something would be nice. 😁
