Should I get my real estate license starting out?

Question

Hello everyone,  I'm new to BP and to real estate altogether. I'm still trying to figure out my niche in commercial R.E. but I have narrowed it down to apartment complexes or mobile homes.  My question would be do you all recommend obtaining your real estate license first or just get started on the deals initially?  I prefer to have credentials,  but I wanted to get advice from those who are advanced.  Your help is greatly appreciated!

I pondered this same question. But when it came down to it I looked at it like this: $300 and its online courses; I couldn't say no to that. The experience I would gain from this would out weight me not taking and obtaining the licenses.

Thanks so much @aaron montague for your advice!  I know that getting a license is definitely something I want to do. It has it's advantages for sure. The right time is in question for me, but something that is a definite,  thanks again!

Given what you've said: yes, get your license.

Being an active agent is about as good as anything for having an understanding of what is going on in your locale.
