Thanks for this post and those who responded. I also was curious whether to get my real estate license. Not just for the MLS but to have as credentials. I will definitely obtain it, but the right timing is where i have to weigh my options.

Hello @Derrick Strope, thanks for your response! Yes, I feel the same exact way. If you're trying to operate a business you should carry yourself in such manner. I'm going to a local real estate meeting soon and I don't yet have any business cards, but I didn't feel I had enough info to even put enough on there. Is an inadequate card better than none at all for the purpose of this meeting? I like to have it all together and not halfway completed, so if it's incomplete I'd rather not have them it all. I've looked into the LLC, still researching the website and it's not too costly, but I won't have that completed by then.

@Devin Morgan you're not alone, I'm going through the same thing! As a matter of fact I was just about to post the same topic. I'm a newbie as well and have watched videos, BP podcasts, forums, and blogs. I have not yet gone to a real estate meeting yet. (I have 2 coming up I'm supposed to go to). But I'm feeling stuck myself.

My fear would be failing or making a costly mistake so I would feel more comfortable with a mentor to shadow. I feel I'll learn better that way. I'm hoping these meetings will help once I get to know some people. I know I just have to get out there and do it because just soaking in the info and not putting it to use will only get you so far.

Hello, I'm a newbie just starting out (I haven't yet done a deal yet), looking to get into wholesaling single family homes. I was thinking about getting business cards, but I don't yet have a business name, LLC, website, and only have a cell phone as of right now.

Would it make sense to have all these listed above before I decide to get business cards? How much importance do you all feel it is to have business cards starting out?  Also, how are investors contacting clients? cell phone, house/business number? Just curious.

Hello Aneita, I found that it only works when I'm on my PC and not my kindle or phone. I'm not sure if any else has had these issues.

Hello @Michele Fischer cool! Business cards are something I definitely want to have. I'm still a new investor and haven't yet done any deals, but I felt like I wanted to at least have some by my first REIA meeting just to display professionalism and to provide some type of contact information for myself. I looked at some VistaPrint cards the other day and will most likely get some from there. Thanks!

Hello @Lian Chavda

I'm in the exact same boat as you. I haven't done a deal yet and I've been researching on and off for at least 6 months plus. Videos, seminars, workshops you name it. I've done everything except attend a REIA meeting, and that's my next step. I'm nervous also as I don't really know what to expect and not sure if I'll be prepared.

I know business cards are a must, but what are you to put on the business cards? I don't have a website, office/suite, fax #, just my cell phone #. I definitely want to have some available when I attend (the end of the month for me), but I don't want to just throw anything together. Suggestions from anyone would be great!

@Lynn Currie that's great that everyone is there to achieve a common goal, regardless of ethnic background, gender, race, etc. The various types of people make it all the more interesting and different perspectives and ideas are able to manifest. Establishing a strong network is very important. Everyone can help each other so that it can be beneficial to all parties. "Speaking the language" is a work in progress for me right now, but I'll be there before I know it :) great post!
