Not a "People Person"

Does anyone know how to social media as an effective replacement for in person networking? I am not a "people person" but still would like to become friendly with other investors in my area.

@Alyscha Johnson,

You may want to see about getting over that.

REI is a people business from both ends: people for whom you provide clean, safe, affordable housing and people with whom you associate to meet your common REI business goals.

It's not easy for me, so I can identify with you a bit. I'm Asperger's, which means I was born without the "bones in my head" which help us relate to and interact with others. I've been learning it for well over 15 years now. Still learning ...

A former pastor of mine summed it up well, I think. He said, "In Heaven, you meet all saints. In Purgatory you meet all souls. In this world, you meet all sorts."

Some folks are more challenging than others when striking up a conversation. Most folks will love to talk about themselves. Ask questions, then let them talk. Interact with them, and be genuine.

We each have two ears and one mouth. Listen more than you talk and learn about the other person through what they say.

Hope this helps ...
