Analysis paralysis or a good plan?

Hello, what do you think.... analysis paralysis or a good plan? About me: Married, wife and I both military nurses. About to go to Korea for a year then unsure which state coming back to..... we are hoping San Antonio, TX. We are just starting out < 3 months of research/reading. Finished reading Brandon turners book on rental property investing, listening to a handful of podcasts, and gathering more and more information. ***PLAN*** Our plan is to continue reading books and researching and practicing analyzing deals over the next year while we are gone until we get back into the states and know which market to focus on. Should we stick with this plan or just pick a market and do long term investing to start out? Any tips/books are much appreciated. We plan to read a few more books from BP next. Only have read rich Dad poor Dad and “the book on rental property investing” by Brandon turner.

@Jacob Morris this is a great plan. I'd also recommend "Long Distance Real Estate Investing" by @David Greene, "The Book on Managing Rental Properties" by @Brandon Turner, "Set for Life"  by @Scott Trench and "Crushing It" by Brian Murray
