Seeing Property Before placing an offer?

Jared Baker

Hello BP.

I have recently began my journey into buying my first property.  I have my financing in order and now it is time to start running numbers and making offers.  I've heard people say that you shouldn't get emotionally invested when looking at property as that can lead to purchasing at too high a price.  So I was wondering if it is a bad idea to just use the pictures from the listing to decide on making an offer or not (this is assuming the numbers work out).  I figure that if the offer is accepted then at that point I would go look at the property in person.  Is this a bad idea or are there better ways to keep yourself from possibly getting emotionally attached?

Thanks.

@Jared Baker NEVER buy a property without putting eyes on it. NEVER. Also, It's almost just as important to see the street, neighbors and neighborhood as it is the property itself. Due diligence is the key to finding a good deal. Good luck!
