Moving down to Tampa, FL

Hi,

My brother and I have been real estate agents and investors in the northern VA area for the last 10+ years. Now we're looking to move to the Tampa, FL area and spend some of that NoVA cash. We want to stay near USF and are mostly pursuing cash flowing rentals and BRRRR opportunities (maybe some flips if the deal is right). We're both pretty savvy about real estate but are new to the Tampa market.

We're looking for knowledgeable contacts, other agents, area experts, potential lenders, or other people willing to share some knowledge.  Planning to fly out to investigate the area this Saturday (6/8) for a few weeks.

Let's get together and discuss opportunities in Tampa.

David

For a moment, I thought I was reading my old post. My wife and I are moving from Arlington, VA to Tampa next month and are looking for ways to smartly invest our equity in the South Tampa (Plant school area). We're looking for a SFR for us that needs a ton of help, but would prefer to get that will 0% down VA loan, if possible. Then we're focusing on multi family in the same area or closer to MacDill. From my understanding, military make great tenants most of the time. If you have time in NoVa, maybe we can grab a coffee. Or you can come to our open house and tell us what you think.

You won't touch anything under 400k in the plant high school district, and that is a property that needs work. go south of Euclid ave and the prices will drop 50k just by being on the other side of plant high school district.

remember most properties south of sandy (SOG) will require flood insurance. This insurance is currently subsidized by the state, and if it ever goes away, the properties will have no value.
