I want to buy a rental property in Manhattan, KS which will be primary home for few years. I was looking around Nortfield area in Fort Riley county. Is it good area for investment as a rental property for future?

If you are purchasing a property to live in, even if it is a multi-family, it is still your primary residence not a rental. We would need more details on the scenerio. If you would like it to eventually be a rental property, than figure out market rents and what your mortgage payment will be. It will have to cash flow at a rate you feel comfortable.
