Beginner Investor in Daytona Beach

Hi. My wife and I are beginning our real estate investment journey. After years of thinking about it we are finally going to go for it. I have been reading relevant books and just discovered BiggerPockets. Our interest is in short term rentals catering primarily to vacationers and snow birds. Focusing on condos, apartments, townhouses as close to ocean as possible.

Any words of wisdom, recommendations, etc etc would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Jim & Amy

Hi Jim & Amy- I have several SFR in Ormond by the Sea and have seen several short term rentals there and on vacation websites. By the beach is the place to be and I agree that there are lots of events that bring people to the area. (Biketoberfest, the 500 and then Bike Week itself). Then there are the summer vacationers that want the beach. Volusia County has done a lot of investing lately to improve beach access by buying the 50's hotels that are run down and improving access to the water.

I am interested to hear where you are narrowing your search.
