Looking to by my first home, interested in advice

Joshua Clark
Posted

I'm a 24 year old am married and have 1 child. Interested in buying my first house but am unsure of the market. My plan is to buy with an FHA loan and live there for a few years. The final step would be to build our dream cabin and rent the house out when we move out. Trying to figure out the best way to do this, any advice would be appreciated, thanks!

@Joshua Clark One thing to keep in mind is "the market" is really hyper local and what may be happening in one part of the country could be having an opposite outcome in another. If your intent is to hold in perpetuity, it doesn't really make sense to try and time the market a few months expecting some massive sell off that may never come. I don't know where you're at, but your best bet is to get preapproved from a lender since it lasts for 2-3 months. Once you know what you're working with you can find a good agent in your market who will be able to give you great guidance. Plenty of agents specialize in first time buyers. Feel free to PM me if you have more specific questions!
