@Alyssa Dyer thanks for the advice on this. I live in an area where housing is very affordable, Rowan County is a good county for rentals. A lot of the homes I’m looking at would cashflow good with the price range I’m shooting for. Definitely some good things to consider here, thanks again.

I’m looking to buy my first home and looking at my options. I’m seeing homes in my area that have good potential and could use minor renovation. The advantage is I am qualified for a conventional loan with my credit union with no down payment required. Should I be considering a 203k loan for a live-in flip? If so, what are the pros and cons?

@Sean Poulos that is one route I have considered. Perhaps I should look at it a little more closely. Thanks for your input here.

@Tony Angelos thank you for your response I appreciate your input.

I'm a 24 year old am married and have 1 child. Interested in buying my first house but am unsure of the market. My plan is to buy with an FHA loan and live there for a few years. The final step would be to build our dream cabin and rent the house out when we move out. Trying to figure out the best way to do this, any advice would be appreciated, thanks!
