Want to buy a rental property but I don’t know where to start

Hello all and happy new year,

I have been on the fence about pursuing real estate but now I want to definitely pursue it. I live in central Massachusetts/metro west area and am curious about the following:

1. Where in MA are good areas to start looking at?

2. How do I know I’m looking at a “good deal”?

3. What are some things to look for in a property (red flags, good flags, etc.)

4. And anyone’s personal experience starting out in real estate investing?

5. General starting out tips?

Thank you!

@Hossam Elaskalani Listen to podcasts and real estate investing books and apply the principals in your area. Where can you buy property where the tenant's rent payments cover the expenses of owning the property?
