From the Boston area (Lynn, MA), I am new to investing and had a lot of questions on how to take the first steps and what are the right moves to take on your first investment property

Welcome @Pedro Blas first things first is you need to learn how to run numbers if you haven’t already. To look at a property without running  the numbers first is at best a waste of time and at worst a form of gambling.

You should try to network, which is tough in this post covid world. We do have 1 monthly virtual meetup which is under “pints & properties” on the events tab here. Our next one is this Thursday 3/25 if you have trouble finding it (that tab is difficult to navigate), and are interested feel free to message me. We were hosting 3 in-person Meetups in MA pre covid and hope to get them back up and running in 2021. You can find other meetups and events in the area as well. There are a bunch in the greater Boston area.

You’ll also need to build your team which will start with a real estate agent, a lender, and an attorney. A good investor focused agent should be able to give you recommendations for lenders and attorneys.

Welcome it’s a great community and the first property is always the most exciting!
