Top 5 Resources to Start?
Hello all, I had a friend tell me I should join BP. I've been browsing, but haven't found what I'm looking for on the site yet. I'd like to watch/listen to the top 5 topics on real estate investing. I'm finding some videos are too vague and some are too detailed. I do want to hear flipping homes, homes for rental income, leveraging cash vs rental income etc... I believe I'd like to be a landlord, and I know its not for everyone, so while I'm moving towards this new career(Home Inspection), it would be nice to listen to experiences from different walks of life. Quick run down of me and what I've got going on.
2010 UCF Grad Marketing Major
10 years managing cellphone repair shops, 2 yeas Help Desk
Currently unemployed and studying for Home Inspector License, should be done in the next 2 weeks and ready to take the exam.
Real estate experience. Purchased a home in Orlando 2007 unfortunately let it go to foreclosure 2011. Just purchased a home in Ocala, FL end of 2020, COOL I bought in two of the highest markets ever in history, but learned my lesson from the first one, timing isn't always perfect for your income and cash to purchase a home.
My mom passed away last year and left me 20 acres and a home in rural south Georgia. The home needs some TLC and my first thought was I don't want to be a landlord to a place so far away (4 hours from Ocala), but now I'm second guessing what I should do with that property rent or sell?
Besides working in I.T. I'm a pretty good DIY'er, Mechanic, and Welder.
I'm looking for any input on your favorite podcasts, videos, or reads. Maybe it's time to dust off that Rich Dad, Poor Dad book someone gave me 15 years ago.

@James Miley I agree. Last night’s webinar on multi family’s was excellent. I think most of the Wednesday webinars are good and focused on helping the beginning 0 door to 10 door investor get in the right set of mind to get started and to help them understand how to get move forward. It also explains how to analyze deals so you’re not buying underperforming property.
The book section is helpful because it has all the books that have been written by BiggerPockets users in one place and you can see if any of the topics interest you from Tax Advice Books to Out of State Investing to Multi Family Properties. There’s a little bit of everything and new books coming soon. Brandon Turner host of last night’s webinar said his new one is due early this summer.
Hope this helps!
