Looking for a local Mentor/Coach

So I'm looking for a local mentor/coach that can help me start quickly my wholesale/flipping career. Yes I say career because that's what this will end up being, my full time business as soon as it allows me to.

I have time and am willing to learn and work hard! I am somewhat knowledgeable in real estate as I was a real estate broker/lender until 2007.

Joseph Lavering Hi,

I have found the most effective way to get a little personalized interest is to start "following" people as you read through threads. As you start to narrow down leaders of interest to you (your specialty of interest). Start reading everything you can find that they have posted in context. You start to get a real feel for some of the great characters and true professionals here on BP.

Follow-up with them by inviting them to become a "colleague", in your invite, ask a question or two in which they specialize or ask for clarification to a post they may have typed up. I will always rephrase an idea they conveyed to show them I have already learned something from them and ask them to elaborate. This lets them know you are sincerely interested in what they have to say and will value the time they spend in reply.

I have "met" some truly remarkable individuals online and have gained so much knowledge from their sharing.

Your best bet will be to join your local investor group. Same approach, no need to corner the first investor you come across. But as you chat people up, you will get a feel for who to invite out to coffee (on your dime) to continue an "offline" conversation.

My favorite saying: I never learned anything when I was talking. I think that was Mark Twain...?

That said, I am going to lay low for awhile and read, read, and read. :)

Best wishes.
