Just Getting Started

Hey Everyone! Hope all is well.

So I’m extremely new to real estate and more specifically rentals. I honestly have no idea where to start and it kind of seems overwhelming on where to begin learning all of the necessary information needed to be successful in real estate. Any tips on how to ask the right questions and begin my real estate journey?

Just try your best to break it down into sections.

1. Staring your business, will you open an entity or do everything as a sole proprietor? What is the plan Flips, buy and hold, Brrrr, 1-4 family or multi unit.

2. Figure out how to find houses with value and learning how to calculate an ARV, cap rates, and ROI. I would start looking up median home prices where you want to buy.

3. What will you be using to finance your properties. how much do you have to put down and is your credit in good shape? FHA, hard money, private investing partners. lots of options here (way more with an entity)

4. Figure out who is going to help you complete these projects. (contractors, lenders, agents, wholesalers, etc...)

5. Get all your ducks in a row and get something under contract!

Hope this helps!
