Looking to get started with a rental where should I began?

I’m 19 years old about to be 20 and I’m looking to get started in real estate. I am attending college in Ann Arbor and I am looking to possibly buy a house or duplex in the next year or two I am just wondering what I should start doing know. Because I am young financing is the most difficult part for me.

Working on building my credit history right now and I do plan to work through college. Thank you for the advice though!

Make sure you build a good credit history, save money for the down payment and other expenses and find out how much you can borrow.  If you are in college full time and not working, getting a mortgage will be hard.  Are your parents willing to co-sign a mortgage for you?
