Getting a License to Transact

LIkely a very common and already-answered question, but finding it difficult to sift through and find the correct answer...

I'm looking to get a license to transact Buying, Selling, and Property Management. However, I do not want to work for someone. Is there a solution to this for someone like me? Let me know if you can point me in the right direction.

Most states require you to hold a salesperson license and be under the supervision of a broker for 3 years before you can get a brokers license. Some states also require you to have sold a certain amount of houses as an additional requirement to getting a brokers license.
