Young Real Estate Agent

Hi! My name is Hannah, I'm 19 years old, and I will have my real estate license in December. I live about 45 minutes south of DFW. Is there anyone who has had success as a very young real estate agent? I know generating and finding leads will be difficult given my lack of experience; however, I am very passionate about real estate and have lots of long-term goals for investing. Just was wondering if anyone else started when they were young and had success! Thank you!

Hello @Hannah Balkenbush

I obtained my salesperson's license at 18 and my broker's license at 21. That was over 30 years ago. I ended up going the real estate appraiser route, eventually obtaining my certified general appraiser's license. While I no longer have my broker's license, I still have an active certified general appraiser's license.

Although I had some success on the sales side, it really wasn't my forte. I had much more success on the appraisal side, but now I'm doing bookkeeping and consulting for real estate investors.

If you commit to learning and growing, I believe you will have much success, and a couple decades in, you will likely have more experience than most real estate professionals at the age of 39.

I wish you all the best!
