Becoming a broker in NY to transfer to NC?

Hello everyone. I will be moving to North Carolina in 2 years and want to start a property management company. I know I would need a broker license to do this. Would I be able to become a provisional broker now in New York, hang my license for two years so that I can become a broker, then transfer my license to North Carolina once I move? Hope someone can help shed some light on this. Thanks!!

Hi @Elenis Camargo - from one New Yorker to another, I'd grab your agent's license now. You'll gain valuable experience while hopefully making some good cash simultaneously.

I got my NY agent's license and broker's license a few days after, as I had the requisite experience from real estate investing. I thought I might do some brokering in the city while continuing to invest upstate. Turns out I haven't succeeded at brokering in NYC, but have had abundant success with it upstate. Your agent's license may open doors you haven't even thought of. Give it a shot.
