Quote from @Galen Ikonomov:

Carlos,

I have not read the comments, but have been in the industry for quite awhile. You need to work with a broker, because you are not just a "unit/lead" as oppose to the 2 companies you have mentioned. When you work with a broker, most of them understand the importance of actually giving you all their attention and put all their efforts to help you, because they are not provided with "leads/units" like the big companies. I can go on and on with the benefits of working with a broker, but you being a 1st timer, definitely look into it.

 Good luck with your purchase!

Very True! One time I worked with a client looking to refinance two investment properties in California and he was quoted at 6.5% going to a retail bank. That same scenario, I found a lender that was able to do it at 5.99% on the wholesale side.

Brokers live off referrals and happy clients.
