Mortgage funded but no repayment plan?

So we closed a mortgage on Feb 17th 2026. We got the check that afternoon.

It’s a month later and I still have not gotten any documents on when the first payment will be? The closing costs were great, the loan terms were great but no contact from them since we closed🤷‍♂️

I’ve been getting mortgages for 40 years, I’ve never had one take this long to get back with me after we closed.

Thoughts? And yes, I’ve reached out to the mortgage broker but he isn’t getting a response from them either.

A lot of times what happens is the loan gets transferred to the servicing department or sold to a servicing company shortly after closing, and the payment instructions come from them rather than the lender you closed with. Sometimes that notice can take a few weeks to show up.

In most cases the first payment is simply the first of the second month after closing (so a Feb 17 closing would typically have an April 1 payment), but you should still receive a welcome letter or servicing notice confirming where payments go.

If neither you nor the broker have heard anything yet, I’d probably check two things: whether the loan has already been transferred to a servicer, and whether the closing package listed a servicing contact or interim payment address.

Worst case, the payment date is fixed in the note you signed at closing, so you won’t get penalized for their delay in sending the servicing info.
