Hello dear BP members !!!

I am about to hire a contractor and start my renovations, in my one family investment property. So, i have few questions here: 1. what is the normal rate to pay to a construction worker per day in Philly ? 2. where can i buy inexpensive doors and windows, bathrooms and kitchens?

I would like to renovate it and rent it out

thank you all in advance,

Mordy

If you're just starting out, I'd recommend not paying contractors by the hour/day.  Unless you have a good handle on how much work is required to complete various construction tasks, this is a good way to get ripped off.  Instead, I would negotiate per-task prices and pay upon completion or each task.
