I'm new to investing and trying to get a general idea from people with flipping and/or contracting experience. I know this will vary from market to market.... I personally am in the Columbus, Ohio market.
What I want to know as a general rule of thumb, round about how much is the cost to do a basic remodel for an entire kitchen, 1.5 bathrooms, and all of the floors in a 1000 sqft house?
21k for the items you listed. plus doors, windows, painting, trim, and more dif selling, cheaper if renting
Thanks @Jim Fleck the additional items you listed are an additional expense to consider, correct?
Yes those would be additional expenses
Thanks @Anthony Michael
yes, others as well but thats starters. Lighting, doors, windows, exterior painting/siding, roofing, mechanicals, landscaping, demo, permits
I would start looking at what I could do to cut costs. I remodeled our kitchen in a flip and if the kitchen cabinets are in good shape, paint and new hardware go a long way and could save you thousands.
It depends on so many components.
Area your in being a huge factor.
There are so many variables. Like are you buying all your own products and doing it yourself? Or are you hiring out?
I was asking just to get a guesstimate of what the repair cost might look like in the event that I wanted to wholesale this property to a fix and flipper I know.
That question could have a ton of different answers. Low end to-high end prices could be from $10k-30k. All depends what your putting in there for material, how much prep, is the house already gutted?
Whatever figure you end up coming up with. Add a 20% overage for the "just in case" things that pop up
@Gary Siver it just doesn’t have any flooring and kitchen looks like it needs done. Since I would be selling to a rehabber I naturally assumed they would be doing low end renovations based on the fact it’s in a C level neighborhood
