Moderators please help, didn’t know where to turn…

A BP member “Nancy E” from Bellevue Washington messaged me for help looking at Las Vegas real estate…

I typed a long response and hit send. Instant response Nancy E is set to private and only accepts messages from Colleagues. No problem, I request connection with message saying I can’t answer her until we’re connected…

A couple hours later I get a BP message saying she’s following me and a DM saying sorry, she doesn’t know how the forums work 

Fortunately  I saved my reply so I simply  hit paste.  Unfortunately. She had hit follow, but not connect.  So now I have no way of telling her how to connect us and can’t even tag her in a post.  Is there anyway someone could send her a DM walking her through forming the connection so I can send my reply?  I assume you can’t connect us in case I’m lying. But I would be just a happy to copy and paste her message to me and my response to one of you to forward. Though it wouldn’t solve future communication problems.  

Any help would be great.

 How true, and sad. It's definitely something I've noticed the past few years. It's like our new members have lost all sense of etiquette.
