Converting an RV Park to a Mobile Home Park

Hello,

I live in an area where there are a lot of RV parks. Would it be economical to convert an RV park to a mobile home park if you got a good deal? I guess the amperage of the electrical service might be different. What might be some other issues?

Bill, as mentioned above, the biggest challenge would be the zoning.  Everything else can be converted, but IMHO it would probably not be worth the cost or effort to do the conversion.  If you are seeking to change the behavior of an RV park from transient to permanent, consider installing "Park Model RVs" which if you are not familiar with, are smaller versions of a mobile home that comply with the zoning regulations for RV parks.  They are typically about 400 square feet, with one bedroom, one bath, a living room, and a kitchen. They are designed to fit on an RV space, the amperage requirements are lower than a larger mobile home, and most of the challenges you would face converting to MH won't be there.  That strategy will likely make more sense, be easier, and more profitable than converting to a mobile home park.
