I've read multiple forum postings about the advantages and disadvantages of having an agent sell your home and the advantages vs disadvantages of flat fee listing services. I ran into a buddy of mine that swears flat fee listing services are illegal ? Is that accurate? There are so many online agencies that offer this.

I don't think that flat fee listings are illegal, but I think that some states require brokers to provide certain minimum services. In other words, some states may require brokers to do more than just put the property on the MLS.
