Real estate buyer’s agent commission

Brandon Arce
Posted

I’m in the process of selling two multi families, have interviewed a few agents, and they have stated their commission rates. Whatever happened to that ruling where the seller should not pay the buyer’s commission agent? Seems it is being ignored because all the agents are still requesting a split commission from the proceeds of the sale. Is this common practice? Are realtors just finding a way to go around the ruling?

Btw I have nothing against realtors, I’ve been thinking of getting a license myself.

Buyers agents have to have a written buyer agency agreement with their buyers. Commissions are no longer listed in the MLS.

That's it. There's nothing else substantive to the lawsuit settlement.
