Seller sold house while we had it under contract

Hello BP,

I need some help, we had a house under contract from April 6 to April 27, 2017 and the seller called me on the week of April 10 and said that she could no longer sell the home because her husband wouldn't sign the closing docs.  (I knew something wasn't correct because she had just tried to close the house the week prior with a different buyer and the only reason it didn't close was because the buyer never showed up.)  Home was sold QCD at on April 17, 2017.

Is there any legal recourse that can happen or is it worth pursuing?

Thankyou!

@Mark Turney

I'm not sure I followed the bouncing ball over your narrative.

By contract, do you mean the property was under an agreement of purchase and sale (APS) and you had performed all your obligations to-date (cleared/waived all conditions by their deadline)?

While you may have recourse, the bigger question is: "is it worth pursuing?"

The answer is often, "No"
