Vacant owner occupied

There is a property that I came across while driving for dollars. The front yard is so over grown that it is physically impossible to get to the front door and it has all of the other major signs of being vacant. When I looked up the properties tax records the owners address was the same as the property addess. I was wondering if anyone knew the best way to try and contact the owner? Should I just send a letter to the address and hope it gets forwarded to the owner? Any thoughts would be great!

Hi @Nathan Blumanhourst. First, chat up the neighbors, particularly those on either side and across the street. These people are your strongest allies: Imagine having to see that eyesore every day when you come home!

Knock on the door (or leave a hand-written note) and express your interest in getting the property fixed up and beautiful again. Ask if they know anything about the situation. Then, just listen. Usually, the neighbors know everything!

Good luck!
