How long does it take to record deed in Maryland?

Question

We're set to close in 7days but Title company is saying Deed wasn't changed to bank's name after foreclosure. How does that happen?  Question is, is it possible to close in 7days.  Any input is greatly appreciated. Thank you

@Beth H. OP's title company could prepare the proposed deed and have the trustees review and sign it. This would take 5-10 minutes of time for the attorneys and a notary.

Once they are made aware of their failure to record a deed out and an impending settlement date, the workload kinda sorts itself out.

Your title company just needs to contact the Trustee/Substitute Trustees who handled the foreclosure and have the Deed to your bank seller prepared and executed. There is no need to record that Deed and wait for it to be returned... as long as your title company has it in hand they can record in sequence.

Thank you for all the responses.  Our  Loan officer emailed us saying they were requesting an extension to closing since title was not ready. I'm wondering why she would need an extension if the loan was approved and the financing part is done; just waiting on a clear title.

A lot of times I am dealing with REOs, we are using the same title company the REO was using (they often incentivize you to do so) then recording both deeds at the same time.

Foreclosure deeds in general take longer due to trustees workload.  Yes your title company can get them and record them back to back.

Every county is different. Howard files them electronically so it happens in a few days, other counties can take up to a few months.
