How to Separate Meters with Shared Laundry?

Hi everyone!

I'm looking at a duplex that currently does not have separate water meters.  I'd trying to work out the cost of getting them separated.  One challenge is that there's shared laundry in the basement.  How would you handle this?  Add a third meter?  Remove the shared laundry and install in-unit laundry?

Both of those solutions could work, but I would see what is common in the sub-market to help you choose the best route.   

Do the math and figure out the most profitable solution.  You may even find it is cost prohibitive to install separate meters, and may stick with your current situation.
