$100 for a foreclosure?

Hey Guys,

I am researching foreclosures and came across many properties that look to have sold at a foreclosure auction for $100.   Is this normal?  Are people really buying these properties at that price?

I am new to real estate and definitely do not know much yet about Foreclosure Proceedings.
