What are some tips for Realtors starting out?

Just starting out, a bit nervous. Any advice/tips for a new Realtor starting out?

Answer your phone. Return emails/texts expeditiously. You'd be surprised how big a part of the game simply taking calls is and how many realtors fail at the basic premise of being timely with their responses.

Build a schedule. Network. Prospect. Work on and inside your business. Have a social media presence. First 1-2 years will be the hardest. Save for taxes. Budget. Avoid falling for marketing schemes by various websites/lead sources. Reach out to your SOI(sphere of influence). Establish 2-3 pillars for lead sources and build them up. Treat people right. Be quick and responses. Schedule your days out. Leave time for God, you, family, friends, relaxing, hobbies, etc. Don't' be afraid to pick and choose clients. Don't have commission breath.

@Jasmine Myrick I'm not a realtor but work for a mortgage company. When dealing with borrowers I use OneNote; good program and easy to use. Take notes. I have to remind my realtor all the time of certain things such as goals, etc.

@Jasmine Myrick get in front of as many people as you can. Don't just sit behind the computer. Network, especially see if there's a local BP meet up group. I'd attend other local group meet ups too. Support them and have a network of small/local businesses.
