Funding for an Apartment building

Ana Booze
Posted

Hello all!  I am new to real estate investing and have mostly been working on single family homes. I recently started thinking about investing in a multi family home and ran into an apartment building. I am thinking about investing in the apartment building and not sure about how to go about getting it financed. Any suggestions?

Speak to commercial lenders. Financing MF with traditional financing will require 25-30% down and typically require experience or greater down as they view it as risk. Trying to get creative will only work if seller is on board to finance entire boat. Last 5 seller financed multifamily properties I saw ended up going back to owner in foreclosure - just food for thought as they were 90-100% financed
