How to find Multi Family Homes

Question

I just finished a 3 day Boot Camp on Multi Family Homes and I was not excited with it. It is a Typical Upsell.
            
            I have been succcesfull with Single Family, yet I know that Single Family is not designed to cash flow. 
            
            Where can I find lists of Multi Family.  Is there a way I can check County Tax records for # of Rooms and Sqare foot?
            
            I want to desing my future mail out to the owners of B and C units.
            
            Any advice I will be glad to return favor?

Assuming you're looking locally, start in your driveway. Go out driving around.  I know Houston's a big place (lived there from 82-95), but start somewhere and start driving.  Once I started looking, I was amazed at how many 4-8-12-16 unit apartment buildings there are.  Often to be in clusters, clearly built by the same developer.  Once you find a cluster, and get an idea of the style, you can scan on Google Earth to find others.

I'd try public records to try to get owners names.  No idea exactly what's in the Harris county records.  Around here, a building type does appear, and it will say apartments.  So, pretty easy to spot.  You could try going to the county clerk (or, their web site), and see if you can get a list.  You could also try one of the data services like melissadata.com.
