I foreclosed on a buyer, he hasn't moved his stuff

So, I sold to someone and carried the loan; he stopped making payments and I foreclosed on him. The property is now in my name. But he walked away and left EVERYTHING, from furniture to clothing, and everything else. It's like he never left, though according to neighbors he hasn't been seen on the property for a good six months (about the time I started foreclosure proceedings). This is all new stuff too, not junk. I'm in northern California and will be getting legal advice - just getting educated before I dig deeper into this. The man I'm dealing with has a history of frivolous litigation and dishonesty (which is why I haven't contacted him yet). What could he be up to and what are my responsibilities?
